Affiliate Disclosure

The short version

ChargeCostLab is not currently enrolled in any affiliate, referral or advertising programme, and earns no commission on anything it covers. We are not an Amazon Associates participant. No charging network, charger manufacturer, energy supplier, insurer, dealer or carmaker pays us for a link, a mention, a ranking or a review. The site carries no display advertising and publishes no sponsored posts.

About the partner boxes in some guides

A number of guides — mostly the ones about home charger installation and energy tariffs — contain a bordered call-out box offering to compare tariffs or installers, with the line “Affiliate link — we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you” underneath it. Those boxes are placeholders. The link behind them points at an example address that is not a live partner, and it pays us nothing today.

They are in the layout so that any future commercial relationship is disclosed in an obvious, labelled block rather than smuggled into the body text. Until one exists, treat that label as a statement of intent, not of fact: nothing on this site is currently earning a commission.

If that changes

If ChargeCostLab does join an affiliate or referral programme, this page is updated first — naming the partner, the date it started, and which articles carry the links. The editorial rules do not change with it:

• Recommendations follow the published figures — price per kWh, installed cost, efficiency, warranty terms, fit for the use case described — and never the commission rate.
• No payment is accepted in exchange for favourable coverage, inclusion in a guide, or a place in a ranking.
• Nothing is ranked higher because it pays more, and a product that is wrong for the described case is still called wrong.
• Commercial links are labelled at the point of the link, not only in a policy page nobody reads.

Why this page exists anyway

The US Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guides (16 CFR Part 255) require a site to disclose any material connection between itself and the products it writes about; the UK and EU consumer-protection rules say much the same thing. ChargeCostLab has no such connection to disclose at present, and saying so plainly is more useful than a boilerplate disclosure that implies relationships we do not have.
